Minoru Kosuge is the Chairman of the Board of Hitachi Data Systems. He was named to the post in April 2009, after serving as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
Kosuge was named CEO in April 2007 following a one year term as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president and chief storage architect, collaborating with Hitachi Data Systems Global Sales and Hitachi, Ltd.’s Disk Array Systems Division (RSD). From 2003 to 2005, Kosuge was division president of RSD, where he led his team in developing the revolutionary Hitachi Universal Storage Platform™
Kosuge joined Hitachi, Ltd., in 1980 and has held a number of progressively responsible management positions since joining the company. As General Manager of Storage Systems Development for RSD and before that as department manager for the Enterprise Disk Array Hardware Design Department, Storage Systems Development, Kosuge oversaw development of Hitachi’s industry leading enterprise and modular storage systems.
Kosuge is a native of Nagano, Japan. He holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from Tokyo University.
