Kolkata, Oct 27 (IANS) Shristi Hotel has joined hands with global hospitality major Westin Hotels and Resorts to construct a five-star hotel complex in the city, a top official said here Tuesday.
“This is a management contract with Westin Hotels. Westin is the upscale chain owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts worldwide, having its operations across 24 countries with over 160 hotels within its fold,” Shristi managing director Sujit Kanoria said.

Spanish firm Cervera and Pioz were the architects of the project.

Kanoria said the Rs.800-crore project was coming up on eight acres at Rajarhat in the northeastern fringes of the city.

The hotel would comprise two towers — one 30 storeyed and the other 33 storeyed. The complex would have 323 rooms with a rooftop helipad.

“Construction works of the project started in March this year and the project will be completed by 2011,” Kanoria said.
