Mr. S. P. Ambrose, IAS (Retd.) and Dr.A. Ramakrishna, Former Deputy Managing Director, L&T rendered the felicitation address.
Written by Mr. S. Ayyadurai in Tamil, this book was translated into English by Mr. N. V. Subbaraman and published by MTS Academy, Chennai.
About the Book: This is the biography of one of the greatest achievers ! Born in a family of Zamindars with an innate desire to graduate as a medical practitioner, Mr. C. R. Ramakrishnan (CRR) scaled several peaks of achievement in diverse fields. CRR was fortunate to receive good education and graduated in Agricultural Science. Disproving the common public perception that a Government job is stable and permanent, CRR joined the firm of Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), a company co-founded by two Danish gentlemen, Mr. H. Holck-Larsen and Mr. S. K. Toubro. Commencing his career in L&T as a trainee in the year 1947, CRR grew with the Company. As his career blossomed CRR became a part and parcel of the organization and was admired and appreciated as a successful Indian who attained many a pinnacle of glory in his personal and professional life.
Adopting the premise of working for employees’ welfare as his duty, CRR transformed himself into an administrator and technocrat par excellence as he steered the organization in a highly disciplined manner.
Particularly in the final 16 years of his illustrious career, CRR’s astute leadership helped ECC, the Construction Division of L&T, breathe life into barren lands and brown fields, converting them into purple patches of prosperity for the nation and its people. Through all his achievements and the progress of the organization, CRR never lost sight of his life’s ambition of bringing cheer, success and progress into the lives of hundreds and thousands of the hard working employees and their families.
He is indeed ‘the great’ C. R. Ramakrishnan whose life is a beacon light of personal example for all who have the ambition and aspiration to attain their goals.
