Mr. H. S. Lheem, the current Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, has a vast experience of handling the overseas business of HMC across the globe.

Mr. Lheem is an Engineering Graduate from Yonsei University, South Korea in Metallurgy. He began his career with Hyundai Motor Company in 1973 at local parts development department. He was posted to HMC’s overseas operations in Canada in 1985.

He worked as a liaison officer between Hyundai Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America in Los Angeles (U.S.A) in 1988 where he gained a lot of experience of the overseas market. Mr Lheem’s strength lies in his in-depth knowledge of manufacturing, service related areas and also excels in man management. In1995, he was promoted as The Director-in-charge for Overseas Export Project where he spent five years overlooking the Overseas Export Service Operations.

To strengthen the base of Hyundai Motor Company in Western Europe, Mr. Lheem was sent to Turkey to handle the operations in September, 2004 and was promoted as the Managing Director to lead the Operations in Turkey.

After a successful stint he left Turkey to join as the Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Ltd in December 2005. Mr. Lheem’s strong understanding of the automotive market and the processes has made him one of the most experienced executives in the automotive industry and he has the distinction of making Hyundai one of the most successful brands not only in India but also in the overseas market.
